Dr. Peter K. Cocolis, Jr.

Dr. Peter Cocolis, Jr., a native of the Springfield area, received a B.S. in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary. Dr. Cocolis is a distinguished graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed two years of advanced general dental training at the University of Virginia, where he served as chief resident. He is a Fellow of the Misch Implant Institute, Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and also participates in numerous continuous education courses.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Implant Society of Northern Virginia and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has also published two research papers in Compendium.

Dr. Cocolis was honored by his peers when selected to be included in the 2004-2008 editions of “The Best Dentists in America” – a guide to excellence in the dental profession.  Washingtonian Magazine has recognized Dr. Cocolis as one of the "Best Dentists in the Metropolitan Area".  Dr. Cocolis is also listed as one of the "Top Doctors" in  Northern Virginia Magazine.

Dr. Cocolis is a member of the West Springfield Rotary Club and was elected president 2004-2006.  He received the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce "Corporate Citizen of the Year" award for 2007.

An avid swimmer, he is a member of the Burke Racquet and Swim Club’s Masters team. He was active in scouting as a youth and is currently his son's Cub Scout den leader.  He resides in Burke with his wife, Rebecca, son, Peter, and daughter, Rachel. 

 

Dr. Emily A. DaSilva

Dr. Emily A. DaSilva is a summa cum laude graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Spanish and Community Health. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where she received commendations for her efforts as a student liaison to the Michigan Dental Association and was awarded the Russell Bunting Award in Periodontics. She also completed special externships in Oral Surgery and with the Indian Health Services in Alaska.

Dr. DaSilva pursued advanced dental training through the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard-Wide General Practice Residency program in Boston, Massachusetts. There she learned advanced techniques in cosmetic and implant dentistry while delivering care to severely medically compromised and underserved individuals. She also served as a Clinical Fellow in General Dentistry at the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine and as Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Dental Hygiene Program at the Community College of Rhode Island. Dr. DaSilva is a tripartite member of the American Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. DaSilva has combined a passion for travel, language and volunteerism through her work delivering dental care to migrant worker families in Traverse City, Michigan and a dental mission in Guatemala. She is active in many community events and study clubs. Her commitment to continuing education is reflected in her recent extensive training for both non-invasive veneer techniques and in implant dentistry through the 3i Synergy Training Program. She is also a certified Invisalign provider.

Dr. DaSilva is thrilled to call Northern Virginia her new home and is eager to incorporate her knowledge, experience, compassion and talent to address the oral health needs of you and your family.
